The Grumblr - Monsters University Gets a Tumblr!

Here's more genius marketing from Pixar for their upcoming prequel Monsters University, about how Mike and Sulley first became friends in college. A new Tumblr blog has recently launched called "The Grumblr" that posts amusing photos and updates from the campus like it's all real. I like it. Here's one of the Instagram-like photos recently posted:

First Look at Pixar's Short 'The Blue Umbrella'

This looks wonderful, 2013 might turn out to be a fantastic year for Pixar after all. A first look at the new short film titled The Blue Umbrella, playing in front of Monsters University (the prequel) coming out this June, has been revealed. The short is directed by Saschka Unseld and strives for a photoreleastic look - which I'd say it definitely achieves - and is about a red and blue umbrella. The introduction, on Wall Street Journal via FirstShowing.net, comes with a short clip to give us a feel. I'm anxious to see this already.

'Imagine You at MU!'

I love the marketing for Pixar's Monsters University, it's just perfect so far. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually watched countless college videos just like this to create the perfect 30 second mock recreation for MU. Nailed it.
